On November 1, Commissioner Fried announced the launch of her inaugural scholarship competition that seeks to celebrate the diverse contributions of various individuals in the agriculture field. This competition will award nine $1,000 scholarships to students in grades 4-12 enrolled in any Florida public, private, charter or home-school. Students are asked to type a 500-word essay on one of three topics, submit a letter of recommendation from an educator, and apply online at FDACS.Gov/AgHistoryAward on or before Friday, January 10, 2020 by 5:00 PM EST. There are two new apps created by stem4 to help students struggling with anxiety and thoughts of self-harm. Available for iPhone and Andriod.
Calm Harm - for students struggling with thoughts of self-harm. With 5 and 15 minute activities, students learn how to resist and manage the urge to self-harm in a healthy manner. https://calmharm.co.uk/ Clear Fear - for students struggling with anxiety and panic attacks.
